Adventure Travel Defined

It has occured to me that it might be helpful to actually attempt to define what Adventure Travel is. So far, the definition I like most comes from the Australian psychologist James Neill:

Adventure travel is to intentionally go beyond one’s normal known area, seeking out experiences which are unfamilar.
