Michael Franti on AdventureLogue

Johanna and I are in Utah this week. We got here Thursday for a Michael Franti and Spearhead concert in Park City. Franti is on his first US tour since releasing a new album and documentary about his 2004 trip to Baghdad, Gaza and the West Bank to attempt to capture the “human cost of war.”

I spent about a half-hour interviewing Franti before his show on Thursday. He told me all about the trip, the music, his politics, and his new project - a film about resolution and forgiveness that will take him to Hiroshima, Ireland, Uganda and other former hotspots around the world.

Check out Adventure Logue here beginning on Monday, when I’ll be posting a series of clips from the interview. Also listen for my story about Michael on Public Radio International’s The World in the coming weeks.

Great what you did but give a helping hand to the people in Darfur, the killings there are the 21st century holocaust
