The Flying Fox Ride hung 170 meters above the river. Still not impressed? It reached speeds of up to 160 kph. That’s around 100 mph if you don’t know the math. The ride over the river was over a mile long.
It is gone now: Mokai Gravity Canyon, the operator 20km south-east of Taihape, shut its doors in 2016 after 16 years and the company went into liquidation in 2020. Nothing has taken over the wire.
