Zipping Around All Year

In the past, I’ve told you about Soaring Tree Top Adventures, just north of Durango, Colorado. It’s (presumably) the longest zipline in the country, spanning over a mile and crossing the Animas River. Oh yea, and it’s only accesible by helicopter or a ride on the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

Not to be out done by a bunch of western hippies (or maybe it was the other way around) the more proper folks in New Hampshire also have a stunning 1/2 mile zipline in the hills of the White Mountains that is open year-round. Rather stay on the ground once it freezes? Fair enough. They offer snowmobiling adventures, with more eco-tourism options on the way. Check it all out at Alpine Adventures. But maybe you’re looking for a gravity-defying experience in a warmer climate…
